I have discovered that the best way to learn to read the cards is by giving readings for others. It’s amazing how much more you learn and how much more comfortable you get with the cards when you have to explain a reading to another person, as opposed to just internalizing the information for yourself.
So, in order to get more practice with the cards, I’m offering free tarot readings. It’ll be a simple 3 card spread, just because doing a full spread takes a lot of time, and typing it up takes a lot more time than that.
So, if you want a reading, send me an e-mail (the link is in the sidebar). If I get more than a couple a week, I’ll randomly select one each week for a current reading, and the rest I’ll set up in a queue and do them in the order they come in, but with no guarantee of a time frame. All readings will be published on here on my blog. If you don’t want your name and/or situation listed, tell me in the e-mail so I can list it as anonymous.
Thanks for helping me get more practice with the cards!

I sent you an email… Those cards remind me of the cards my grandmother used to have when I was growing up…!

What worked best for me was to actually design and make my own deck. During that process the Tarot seem to come alive for me. Not to mention that the deck I made is so much more in tune with me than any I could buy.

I’ll have to give this some thought. I, unfortunately, don’t have an artistic bone in my body *laughs*. But it might be a good creative exercise regardless. I went on a retreat once that used art as a basis for self-exploration. It wasn’t so much about making a good picture, but in exploring your creativity and what your creativity has to say to you. I found it a good practice, and still occasionally pick up some colors and paper to do some exploratory work.
