I’ve always loved Colin Powell, and if he had run, even as a Republican, I would have voted for him. He’s a good, honorable man who follows his beliefs and ethics.
Please watch the whole video of his endorsement.  This is how such a thing should be done.  With dignity, kindness, and intellectual honesty:

And here is [...]

Of course, they’re running scared.  Why else would you see interviews like this:

Minnesota Representative Michelle Bachmann calls Obama “anti-American” for his “close association” with Bill Ayers. She also comes just short of calling anyone who is left leaning and liberal as anti-American. So I guess that makes me anti-American.
Also in the segment, they [...]

The Electronic Freedom Foundation (EFF) filed a brief in the US District Court on Thursday challenging the constitutionality of the retroactive telecom immunity passed by Congress earlier this year.
The EFF argues that the act violated the Constitution’s seperation of powers and deprives Telecom users of their rights by allowing the government to spy on them [...]

One of the most enlightening workshops I’ve attended in the last few years was a mandatory diversity workshop at my place of employment.  I was prepared to be bored, because I hadn’t heard anything unique on diversity in years.  This one surprised me.  Our facilitator, Trula Nicolas, a Professor at Western Washington University, came at [...]

Mea Maxima Culpa!
It never occurred to me that by writing about John McCain, that it would trigger McCain/Palin ads on AdSense.  I’ve gone in and blocked the websites of the ads, so you shouldn’t be seeing them much longer.  So sorry for those of you who, like me, get a serious case of acid indigestion [...]

So, the McCain campaign seems to think that attack ads are the way to go in this election.  Well, people in glass houses really shouldn’t throw bricks.
Sure, we’ve all heard of the Keating 5. We may even know that McCain was part of the Keating 5. But what was the whole scandal all [...]

How about this, folks.
FOR the first time since the Advertising Council was founded in 1942, the organization — which directs and coordinates public service campaigns on behalf of Madison Avenue and the media industry — is introducing ads meant to tackle a social issue of concern to gays and lesbians.”
One of the points of the [...]

The Democratic National Convention of 2008 is over.  We heard some great speeches, and I’d like to share with you some of the information and language that I found personally inspiring over the week.  If you haven’t already watched these speeches, follow the links to them on YouTube.  It’s well worth the time.  Note:  My [...]

“I know that while America may not be perfect, our union can always be perfected.”  So says Representative Jesse Jackson, Jr.  His impassioned speech last night at the Democrative National Convention is worth seeing.  You can see it posted at  Shakesville.
I’ve always been particularly annoyed by the “America love it or leave it” crowd.  Because [...]

At least, that’s what a judge in Russia ruled.
According to the story on Telegraph.co.uk:
“The judge said he threw out the case not through lack of evidence but because the employer had acted gallantly rather than criminally.
“If we had no sexual harassment we would have no children,” the judge ruled.”
Please [...]
