I’ve been reading Confessions of a Pagan Soccer Mom for a while now (yeah, yeah, someday I’m actually going to update my links list). The reason I’m writing today, though, isn’t just to recommend the blog (which I do…highly), but to tell you about the great giveaway she’s doing.

She recently reviewed The Housewive’s Tarot, and the great makers of this Tarot deck have given her a copy to give away to a lucky reader. So head over there and check out the review and sign up for a chance at winning the deck!

Nice Blog you have here, Babs, err Maritzia.

I didn’t know you liked the Tarot. Learned something knew.

    Young! *hugs*

Nice to see you here, hon.

Yeah, I’ve been interested in Tarot for years, but only really started working at learning it in the last year or two. I’m still learning. Because of my memory problems, I have trouble remembering all of the cards, so I mostly do readings only for myself or family, or for folks on-line, where it doesn’t matter if I have to stop and look things up.

    Hi…

It’s funny I recently just started learning the tarot. Small world after all.

I was told you can know the cards from definitions, but it’s best to go with your own impressions of the cards, and what they mean to you. To make it more personal. Course to me they are just cards.

  4. Maritzia Says:

Yes, the definitions and meanings are a general guideline. I use them as a general guide, but my gut intuition is what tells me if that is on the right track or not. The Tarot is a good tool for guiding your intuition as well as for personal introspection. To me, they are more a tool for understanding myself and what’s going on in my life (or the life of the person I’m doing the reading for), than for divinatory purposes.

It takes a lot of practice to listen to one’s gut. I’m always thinking it’s wishful thinking.

  6. Maritzia Says:

It does take practice and a lot of hard work. And some positive self-esteem. It’s hard to trust your intuition if you have a negative view of yourself. After all, you don’t really trust people that you don’t like. That was really the hardest hurdle for me to overcome, and one that I still struggle with.

Of course, I’ve also been at this for longer than you’ve been alive *grins*.
