Today’s Card is the 9 of Pentacles.
This is quite an auspicious card. The 9 of Pentacles (also called the 9 of Coins in some decks) is, like all 9′s, a card of fulfillment. Being an Earth card, that fulfillment is usually in the material world. Often it indicates a financial windfall or success in a venture. Some interpret it to mean success in a venture after a period of hard work. Let’s keep our collective fingers crossed that financial success is on it’s way for me.
It could, also, however, indicate a promotion or salary increase at work. I just found out Wednesday that I was getting a $2 raise, so it could also be referring to that, but that interpretation doesn’t really feel right to me. When I pulled the cards, I was concentrating more on the full moon, the weather, and what the night and weekend will hold. I think I’ll just keep this card in the back of my mind as the weekend progresses to see where it might lead.
Goddess Card: Mawu
Today’s Goddess Card is Mawu. Mawu is a West African Mood Goddess who is beleived to have created all life. Mawu ensures that needs are abundantly supplied without causing harm to the world. This card often refers to environmentalism. My husband and I have been working hard to save on utilities this winter. We’ve kept the central heat off for the most part, relying on two small space heaters to provide heat as needed. We have to turn the heating unit on this weekend because of a hard freeze, but we will keep it at a minimum temp to keep the pipes from freezing. My intuition tells me that we will have all we need over this wintry weekend without needing to go to extremes.
