Today’s card is The Star. The Star is a card of hope. Improvement may not be instantaneous, but it is coming somewhere down the road. The help you need will appear.
This is an appropriate card for today. I talked to the rep with the contracting company I work with, and he’s going to be able to get me another $2-$3 an hour to make up for the lack of benefits in my current placement. The company they subcontracted with set me up as an independent contractor, which was not what they were supposed to do, so they essentially were pocketing the difference they were being paid. I talked to my rep, and he’s working with his contracting folks to get me some more money until their contract period with the subcontractor is over. They can then make me an employee of theirs. In the meantime, I get more money to make up for some of my losses through self-employment taxes and lack of health insurance.
The Goddess card today, Vesta, goes along with The Star. Vesta is the Goddess of home and hearth, and is generally interpreted to mean a change in home life. Well, the extra money will definitely mean a change in home life. It will relieve some stress and take away some of the financial worries. I can stop scanning Craigs List looking for a cheaper place to live.
