Now that the election is over, I’m trying to get back into learning the Tarot cards better. So, I’ll be trying to pull one card a day along with a Goddess card, for daily guidance.
Today’s card is The Star, which is quite propitious for me. I’ve been allowing myself to dwell on the negatives of life lately, especially where my current job is concerned. I really like the job, but I’m working as an independent contractor, and after the first of the year, I just can’t keep working like this. It just costs too much without the associated benefits (mainly medical). The Star tells me not to give up hope, not to throw in the towel. There is hope in the situation. It might not improve immediately, but it will improve.
The Goddess card for today is White Tara, which is about sensitivity. “Avoid harsh relatinoships, environments, situations and chemicals”. Well, the Goddess knows I’ve been in a majorly pissy mood the last couple of days. I haven’t been this irritated by everything since I had my ovaries removed. I could swear I have PMS. And the card is right. When I’m like this I need to avoid those things that will push me over the edge. Which means stop obsessing over money *laughs*.

I am curious about the use of White Tara in Tarot. White Tara is my benefactress, and she is a Buddhist deity. Can you explain?
Peace,
Alden~

I don’t know anything about tarot cards, but I do want to encourage you to hang in there. During these difficult economic times, it’s difficult not to focus on finances, but (and I’m talking to myself also) we have to stay positive. Things will turn around.

Sorry it took me so long to respond. It was a busy weekend.
Alden – I’m using the Goddess Guidance Oracle Cards. It includes goddesses from many different cultures and traditions. It’s a beautiful deck, and I’m learning more about different traditions using it.
Davida – thanks for your encouragement. I’m trying hard not to be negative. I’ve worked out a budget that will at least get us through this time next year if everything stays the same. We’ll have to live very simply, but we can do it. Still keeping my fingers crossed, though, that things pick up after the first of the year.
