How about this, folks.

FOR the first time since the Advertising Council was founded in 1942, the organization — which directs and coordinates public service campaigns on behalf of Madison Avenue and the media industry — is introducing ads meant to tackle a social issue of concern to gays and lesbians.”

One of the points of the campaign is to discourage the use of the word “gay” to mean something negative.  I cannot not tell you guys how happy that makes me.  I spend way too much time lecturing kids on-line (especially in game) on the use of the word “gay” to mean stupid, bad, or something otherwise negative.  It drives me absolutely crazy!  The only thing worse is when I hear them call a failed raid a “gang bang” (hmmmph…that not only got them lectured, it got them reported for their trouble).

I’m so happy to see Madison Avenue giving something back to the gay and lesbian community.  Maybe next we can convince them to do a positive add campaign around transsexuality (did I spell that right *scratches her head).
